We are catholic by heritage, we aren’t practicants. Our family celebrates catholic holidays because it's tradition and it's a way of getting the family together. My family is quite big and I love when we get everyone together.
Besides New Years Eve, this was the first holiday that we spend just the two of us. Somehow it reminded me of my Christmases in France, just me, my sister and my parents. It was still funny. My partner had work to do so I made a bunch of food, I decorated the table with some stuff I had at home so it would be more romantic.
My partner was amazed and the food was surprisingly good :D.
As starter we had smoked salmon with avocado.
The main course was lamb with rice and raisins.
For desert we had fruit salad and the typical Easter cakes from our region in Portugal (Algarve ) and from my mothers region in France (Drôme). And of course, a coffee for me!
Than we went out, we had to take the car, because it was raining a lot!
What I think it’s impressive in this town is that it feels like I'm living in a little town but it’s big. It has a lot of neighbourhoods and each one has a little centre with his own church. The churches are huge!
And there are also small inner courts like the Begijnhof in Amesterdam. We have found one more that afternoon.

In addition I have to say that the holiday in Holland is on Monday as in France. (In Portugal it's on Friday but in my hometown we have the tradition of climbing to one of the mountains on that monday and eat the typical cake - folar - there.)
